Winifred Whitfield had the opportunity to attend a workshop in the Tuscany region of Italy. led by internationally renown and highly celebrated portrait artist, Louise and Joseph Simone - and she took it!
It was my first visit to the Tuscany region and what an amazing trip it was. It was truly an experience of a life time. We were a group of 12 portrait photographers. The accomodations were superb. We stayed in a magnificant villa Poggalia , not far from Certaldo. The architecture of the medival towns, the landscapes and the views from our windows were breath taking. The food, the wine and significantly the warmth and hearts of the Italians and special friends, Roberto, Paula, and "Franco the Magnifico" we called him. will long be remembered. Great food, lots of wine surrounded by beauty and new friends. What a trip.
I have easily 1500 images. I hardly know what I want to show you. I think I will show you the land. The following is a view from my villa window.

The following three images were shot at stops along the road. At the moment, I an not sure exactly where I was.

One night as we were in the van headed home, I started to play with my camera. I dropped it to about a 30 second exposure, pointed toward the car lights on the road, and slowely wrote my name in with my lense pointed todard the light. The following is one of my favorites.
